This article found on the Yes Men website is one i wish were satire..  Ever to make a buck people are starting to cash in on global warming..  Think of all the tundra that will be come beach side property.

Heat is not made of tiny hot things

RoveGate

I would be lying if I said i was not enjoying watch this scandal evolve.  Although this is serious business, and personally the administrations response has been unacceptable - its nice that the press has finally gotten some back bone.  The whitehouse spokesperson was barraged with 41 questions about rove, bush, and plame in 35 min.  But the most interesting fact that has emerged was a that we finally understand that old Tennessee saying of fool me once, shame on you...  fool me can't get fooled again.. 

"It was in George H.W. Bush's second presidential campaign that Rove got into hot water with his employer. Rove was fired from the 1992 reelection team because of suspicions that he had leaked information [...] to columnist Robert Novak."  From LAT

Tom Petty is Pissed!

Tom Petty was old when I was born, but this man made some rocking tunes, and from what i'm reading has a young vibrant progressive mind.  His new album, called The Last DJ, has already had the first single banned from radio without a curse word or eliciting violence..  Its called " Radio is Not Even Worth Listening To".  The Rolling Stone article gets him on a roll..  hear why this rocker thinks the rock and roll is gone from todays rock and roll....

Report: Antarctic Ice Sheet Thickening

When you read into the article you see this statement..

"The interior of the east Antarctic ice sheet is the only large terrestrial ice body that is likely gaining mass rather than losing it," said Curt Davis, an engineering professor at the University of Missouri-Columbia, who co-authored the report.

Gee, that title almost sounds as if the whole global warming issue is over..  What a lame spin, there are people in this country who will continue to insist that there is not consensus over global warming.  There is consensus, what they are not sure of is how long we have till the tempuratures change dramatically and the world as we know it physically changes.

"A democracy can die of too many lies"

I have been posting a few articles from time to time about the dangerous direction the Bush White House is pushing Public Broadcasting, in other words working to stifle dissent.  Salon posted yesterday an address given by Bill Moyers at the National Conference for Media Reform in St. Louis, Mo.  This is a must read for anyone who wants to know that there is a path for the truth to escape.  This is a tesitment from a man who was present at the launch of public broadcasting 40 years ago and still has an eagle sharp vision of how it should look... 

My favorite line was a quote from Richard Reeves who answered a student who asked him to define real news. "Real news," Reeves responded, "is the news you and I need to keep our freedoms."

With little coverage.. our country is sinking in red.
